The IIE’s Varsity College Pietermaritzburg recently had its unseasoned First Years enter the fray of Varsity Life. With first year students about to embark on one of the most exciting journeys in life, The IIE’s Varsity College acclimatises all new students with Orientation Week (O’ Week).
The week before lectures started, all first years were encouraged to attend O’ Week and learn the core values of The IIE’s Varsity College. This week consisted of numerous activities hosted by volunteer students and staff members who were ready and able to assist any new students with queries, and support where necessary.
From campus-based activities that focused on the various student bodies on campus, as well as what is offered by each, to a day at Wavepark where the aim of the day was to bond with fellow students, O’ Week was the prologue to all that happens on The IIE’s Varsity College Pietermaritzburg campus.
With more to come, the unseasoned first years have a myriad of choices to make when it comes to student life at The IIE’s Varsity College Pietermaritzburg. Do they join the Social Committee? VC Cares? Maybe they should strive to be Sports Captain? Or perhaps class rep? All these avenues are possible at The IIE’s Varsity College.
