ZOOM GEARS GRADUATES _Media Release

The IIE’s Varsity College Career Centre recently hosted a Virtual Career Development Week with free daily zoom training from a variety of career development experts. The Virtual Empowerment Workshops were designed to help graduates get the right tools for job searching, especially during such challenging times.Guest speaker Bonsai Shongwe - Founder of Bonsai Shongwe Institute, best selling author and inspirational speaker shared his insight on how one can develop GRIT (Guts, Resilience, Initiative and Tenacity) with The IIE’s Varsity College graduates during the Brand’s Career Centre’s recent Virtual Career Development Week.Other relevant topics included: Branded™ - Building a compelling personal brand by Jen van Heerden from Meraki Collective who partners with young people, to help them develop their personal and professional profiles and Job Search Strategies by Pam Cherry, a career development coach who works with scholars, graduates and young professionals.Said Gugulethu Tshabalala Career Centre Coordinator The IIE’s Varsity College Pretoria: “I believe that our Virtual Career Development week brought a huge amount of hope for our unemployed Graduates who have found themselves stuck and confused as to how to go forward with their job searches during this pandemic.
